The philosophy behind our cafe is to encourage this community to be present in an area that has been written off due to crime and drugs. It is our mantra that it takes a community to heal a community and what better way to set that notion in motion than to offer a great cup of coffee and something yummy to eat? By inviting the community of law enforcement, first responders, city officials, business owners, and concerned citizens of Hemet we aim to create a thriving and vibrant presence of people that stand against crime and stand for the children in our neighborhood. The more people willing to take a stand and willing to be physically present at 145 N. Tahquitz Ave., then the more likely the negative elements in this neighborhood will be to find another place to hide.
My City Youth Center is a place that is meant to be a safe haven for the youth next door and from the surrounding areas, supporters of the cafe’ will be boldly proclaiming that they want more coffee and less crime in the 92543 zip code. Ideally, this effort will become a model for every square block of this valley to stand up and be a positive presence for every child.
