We will be paying musical tribute to a giant of film music, the wonderful composer and pianist, Mr. Dave Grusin. Dave has won an Oscar for "The Milagro Beanfield War", a Grammy for "Havana", and has written many beautiful scores. A partial list includes "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter", "Three Days Of The Condor", "Tootsie", "The Cure", "Random Hearts", "The Fabulous Baker Boys", "Hope Floats", "On Golden Pond", "Dinner With Friends", "The Firm", "Heaven Can Wait", and many more. Barnaby Finch is on piano and is the musical director. Joining Barnaby will be Jeff Olson on drums, Craig Yancey on saxes and flute, and, all the way from L.A., virtuoso guitarist Sean Longstreet. Bill Saitta is on bass, and we have a special guest - on synth and strings will be Idyllwild Arts student Michael Dunaevsky. We'll play some of Dave’s gorgeous film music, and some groove tunes from his acclaimed studio recordings. We’ll also throw in a lovely Christmas tune! Come on out! MUSIC AT THE CENTER is a fundraiser for The DVAC and its programs. Doors open at 6:30 pm with the concert beginning at 7:00pm. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for sponsorship opportunities.
